On the nose this whisky presents caramel and burnt oak. A splash of water develops the nose. This is a real man's whiskey which despite a 15 year age statement can assault the taste buds with a 43% alcohol burn at first. However it quickly settles down to a warm, smooth caramel malty smoothness tinged with oak that will leave you wanting more. It has a short earthy finish with strong hints of peat, burnt caramel and a touch of sea salt.
